Our client approached us wanting to update their family’s kitchen without going down to the studs, so we made a plan to give the kitchen a complete makeover by painting the existing cabinetry, adding a new backsplash, and replacing the countertops and hardware. Other improvements included a new marble top on an existing antique table base, custom wood wall treatment and cushion for the built-in banquette, new window treatments, a fresh coat of wall paint, and swapping upper cabinets for floating shelves over the desk. In the dining room, we kept the clients’ table and chairs, swapped out the rug and chandelier, added a sideboard, artwork, styled the arched built-in bookshelves with a mix of modern and antique pieces.
